Wise spiritualists will tell you that to be happy, all you must do is change your thoughts. You can be happy right now. Right now. This very second. This second…
If you think that you are happy, you will be happy.
To get that way, you must change the way you think. Your way of thinking is a learned habit. Maybe you learned how to think jealously of others who do better than you. Maybe that was your mom. Maybe you learned to be a guy who never spoke up. Maybe you learned how to behave that way from your dad.
I’m saying stinkin’ thinkin’ is just as much a habit as happy thinkin’ is. It’s all in the way you train your brain to think. Of course, emotions have something to do with it too. You’ll know how you feel, of course. Of course, you know what happy feels like, but do you know joy? Do you know the feeling of ecstatic bliss? You can when you make thinking positive a regular part of your day.
Let’s get happy!
The more you think, and feel, happy, the greater chance that joy and even ecstatic bliss will be part of your life experience. Enjoy. I’m not sure if you will feel 100% better after you try this A, B, C method to feeling happier, but you will likely feel a little bit happier. I choose happiness over sadness or anger.
Choose happiness.
What is the A, B, C, method?
Do you remember when you were in school, and you had to make a poem out of letters? They were called Acrostic name poems. Usually, it was your first name, like this:
T is for Terrific. You always amaze.
E is for Energy. You never waste a day.
R is for Royal. You lead a charmed life.
E is for Educated. You prove that you’re bright.
S is for Sagacious. You have sharp insight; maybe not the best judgment, but you’re wise.
A is for Achieving. What you’ll accomplish next is a surprise.
Acrostic poems inspired my idea to use the letters of the alphabet to help me feel happier throughout the day. I also use this method to remind me of what I am trying to achieve with this life. Here’s an example:
A is for Ambitious
B is for Believe in myself.
C is for I’ve got charisma.
D is for Dynamic.
E is for Energy.
I find a word or phrase for each letter. The description should be about what I believe about myself. I do this exercise daily for the following reasons:
- To immediately stop my mind from thinking negatively.
- To give myself a boost of confidence.
- To help me believe that I can achieve what I am striving for.
- To help me fall asleep.
Try this every day, after a month, and evaluate how you’ve been feeling. Do you feel more energetic? Do you feel a little bit more positive? Please try this A. B. C. method for greater happiness. It’s advice that I can give you without any charge because remember:
Happiness is free.
